Ministry Mission Statement
The purpose of this ministry is to make available opportunities for Christian homeschool families
in Connecticut to network together through
participation in outreach activities that serve Jesus.
How this Ministry Began
I submitted my life to the Lord in 1991. I have been a stay-at-home Christian homeschool mom/teacher since 1992. While my method of homeschooling is mainly eclectic (incorporating what I prayerfully believe to be the best from among a variety of homeschool approaches/ resources), my philosophy of teaching is Christian discipleship. (For a better understanding of what I mean by Christian discipleship, refer to my article at Christian Discipleship.) I have another website called 4HimKids that shares more of what we do as a Christian homeschool family.
I had been praying for some time about how to network with other Christian homeschoolers in my area. At the same time, I wanted to incorporate one of my favorite activities (Christian outreach) into our homeschooling. Through my prayer times, the Lord laid on my heart an exciting networking and outreach ministry opportunity for Christian homeschoolers in Connecticut. The result was the birth of
H.O.M.E.S. for Jesus (Homeschool Outreach Ministry Encouraging
Service for Jesus).
Subsequent to starting this group, the Lord also laid on my heart to begin planning some wholesome family activities for Christian homeschoolers, without the activities necessarily being outreach-focused. At the Lord's prompting, I started CTHomeschoolersROCK! (Connecticut Homeschoolers Raising Our Children for the King!). Ultimately, I ended up combining both groups under the ROCK! heading.
If you are a Christian homeschool family living in Connecticut and would like to register to join my e-mail list to receive details of each activity as they are planned, go to this website's sister site at CT Homeschoolers ROCK!.
